US comments on the Chinese sanctions

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called the restrictions imposed on two American individuals as unfounded.

According to TASS, on Saturday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the United States condemns the sanctions imposed by China against two American individuals due to the situation around the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and considers them unfounded.

“The United States condemns the unfounded PRC sanctions against two members of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, which apparently were introduced in response to US sanctions against Chinese officials related to serious human rights violations in Xinjiang”, – statement by the press service of the State Department says.

Thus, the American State Department, which considers only itself to have the right to impose sanctions on anyone who does not like it, found itself in an anecdotal situation.
