Belarus prepares to recognize Nexta as a foreign extremist organization

According to the Investigative Committee of Belarus, in the information posted by the channel, there are repeated facts of calls for protests, blocking roads, strikes and coordination of unauthorized mass events. At the same time, the persons involved in the activities of Nexta, including its administrator Stepan Putilo, receive a monetary reward for this, the investigators are sure. The editorial board, according to the UK, is financed by placing advertisements on extremist resources.

According to the rubaltic channel, the Investigative Committee of Belarus (SK) initiated the recognition of the opposition Telegram channel Nexta as a foreign extremist organization and the prohibition of its activities on the territory of the republic.

“Based on all the collected objective data, the investigators identified the signs of a foreign extremist organization in their activities. Currently, the UCK in Minsk has initiated the recognition of the editorial office, actually created by Stepan Putilo and other persons, as a foreign extremist organization and the prohibition of its activities on the territory of the Republic of Belarus”, – the ministry’s press service said in a statement.

Previously, Nexta was recognized as extremist, and a criminal case was opened against its creator, Stepan Putilo, on suspicion of organizing mass riots. Also, the Investigative Committee of Belarus sent documents to Poland for the extradition of Putilo. Nexta’s office is located in Warsaw. The organization covers the post-presidential protests and calls for participation in opposition rallies. Earlier, a court in Belarus recognized the telegram channels Punishers of Belarus and Maya Kraina Belarus as extremist.
