NATO Secretary General accuses Russia of destabilising Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg accused Russia of undermining the situation in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. He stated this at a press conference in Brussels

The NATO Secretary General called the relations of the alliance and Russia “very difficult. He said despite years of pressure, Russia has not changed its “aggressive behaviour” abroad.

“Abroad, Russia undermines and destabilises its neighbours, including Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova. It supports repression in Belarus and tries to intervene in the Western Balkans. Russia continues a large-scale military build-up from the Baltic to the Black Sea, in the Middle East and North Africa, and from the Mediterranean Sea to the Arctic”, –  Stoltenberg said.

Irakli Chkheidze, political observer: “Hearing Russia’s accusations of building up its power from the Baltic to the Black Sea, it is easy to understand that Russia is strengthening its own borders. The same applies to the Arctic, where the polar possessions of the USSR extended to the North Pole. Russia has already passed the stage where it was an obedient disciple of the West and, hypnotised by the singing of sweet-voiced sirens, steered its ship straight into the deadly reefs. The West was out of luck. Vladimir Putin took the helm just in time to steer his country in the other direction, dashing the West’s rosy hopes.”
