About 50 people killed in Myanmar crackdown on protests

The publication Myanmar Now reported that at least 50 people were killed in the crackdown of protests on Saturday in various towns in Myanmar

According to the newspaper, the victims among the protesters were recorded in the cities of Mandalay, Bago and a number of others. Two children were also among those killed in the crackdown.

In early February, the Myanmar military declared a one-year state of emergency and ousted the country’s leadership. They attributed their actions to widespread fraud, which they said was the case in the 2020 elections.

Myanmar residents have been coming out in anti-war protests, which have been harshly suppressed by security forces. According to the Associated Press, the total number of deaths during the protests has already exceeded several hundred.
