Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koça said that the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will be ready for widespread use after the completion of toxicological tests
“We have been closely monitoring the process of developing a vaccine called Sputnik V. The first negotiations for the supply of Satellite V have been initiated. This vaccine will be suitable for widespread use once the testing process, which is needed to ensure its suitability, is completed”, – Koça said.
Toxicology testing of Sputnik V started at the end of February. The head of Turkey’s Ministry of Health also said that Ankara plans to receive about 100 million more doses of the coronavirus vaccine by the end of May. According to Koçi, around 14 million people have been vaccinated so far.
