The former head of the Constitutional Court (CC) of Moldova, Victor Pushkash, stated that the President of the country could not dissolve the Parliament without consultations with the factions and a positive opinion of the CC
“During consultations, the parliamentary majority, if there is one, can nominate its candidate. It is written in the Constitution that the president ‘may’. That is, he is not obliged, even though three months have elapsed. This is a window, recognised, among others, by the decision of the Constitutional Court”, – Puskas said in an interview with the Sputnik-Moldova radio station.
Earlier, it became known that Moldova’s presidential candidate Maia Sandu for prime minister, Igor Grosu, failed to receive a vote of confidence from MPs. PSRM representatives said that they would support the candidacy of Vladimir Golovatyuk.
