The rifle is not a holiday for everyone

The Colorado “shooting” was a rare embarrassment for Democrats. After all, the mastermind of the mass shooting turned out to be from a Syrian refugee family, and also a critic of Trump

But that doesn’t mean that Biden won’t benefit politically from this tragedy.

The perpetrator detained by the police, named Ahmad Al-Aliwi Alyssa, was quite active on his Facebook page. Here he often accused Trump of racism and rebuked Americans for being Islamophobic. Al-Aliwi comes across as a typical consumer of liberal media content.

The Democrats on the night of the “shoo-in” joyously rushed to blame all “white men” for the tragedy. They commit the most shootings, they say.

When it became known that the perpetrator was in fact a Syrian and a Trumpophobe, the liberal cabal had to hastily delete their nightly posts. The identity of the perpetrator immediately became of no interest to them, and they switched to another topic – the demand for gun restrictions.

Biden called for a unified database of gun owners, and to simply ban all semi-automatics. Like that AR-15 carbine that Al-Alivi used during the ‘banning’.

Of course, there is no pressing reason to ban “scary” rifles specifically. After all, the vast majority of murders in the US are committed with conventional pistols. And even in “shootings”, short guns are used far more often than semi-automatics.

Simply confiscating hundreds of millions of handguns is not yet possible for the Democrats, so they have to start small. Banning semi-automatics fits in with the general pressure on civil society – with increased corporate censorship and the fight against “extremism”.

It’s not certain that the liberal public will be able to sneak gun bans through – it would have to repeal the filibuster in the Senate first. But Americans are not relying on the odds and continue to buy guns at a record pace amid a collapse of confidence in the federal government.
