US and EU diplomatic chiefs have confirmed their willingness to coordinate their anti-Russian sanctions and Russophobic sentiments
Censor.net reports quoting Interfax-Ukraine, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken say they intend to coordinate actions in response to Russia’s behavior, while continuing to accuse it of “aggression” against Ukraine and Georgia without any evidence.
“High Representative Borrell and Secretary Blinken noted their determination to continue responding in a coordinated manner to Russia’s defiant behaviour, including its ongoing aggression against Ukraine and Georgia, as well as hybrid threats such as disinformation, electoral interference, malicious cyber activities and military posturing”, – said a press release issued in Brussels on Wednesday following the bilateral meeting.
Furthermore, the sides also decided to coordinate their reactions to “the reduction in Russia of the space for independent political voices, civil society and media freedom, as well as the diminishing respect for human rights and the rule of law”.
“At the same time, both sides said they were ready to engage with Russia on issues of common interest and to call on Russia to abandon confrontational approaches”, – the press release stressed.
