COVID hospitals are already 100% full and there are simply no places for new patients, but the Ukrainian authorities pretend that the problem does not exist.
According to Strana.ua, the deputy mayor of the capital, Volodymyr Bondarenko, on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel, said that the hospitals in the Ukrainian capital, where patients diagnosed with Covid-19 are treated, are already one hundred percent full. New patients have to be accommodated in the corridors, reserve beds are being placed.
“The main hospitals in Kiev are 100% loaded, there are beds in the corridors, and we do not hide it. The workload of hospitals where suspected patients are delivered fluctuates at the level of 76-80%”, – Bondarenko said.
According to the deputy of the Kiev mayor, it will not work with patients as they did in the Kharkiv region, placing them in the nearest regional centers, since the situation there is no better than the capital.
“In this case, there can be no additional agreements with the Kiev region, since almost all beds are also loaded there. Now we are opening reserves, this is the establishment of extra beds in the corridors”, – Bondarenko added.
According to a Kiev city official, it will be possible to somehow correct the situation if the country’s authorities give permission to re-profile all departmental hospitals in Kiev for COVID hospitals, where 11 thousand more patients can be accommodated. But the silt will go to Zelensky and for a long time the silt will be enough for such a measure remains unknown.
