NATO classified Russia as one of the countries that “challenge the rules-based international order, including through hybrid and cyber threats”.
As reported by Censor.NET with reference to Interfax-Ukraine, the foreign ministers of the NATO countries at a meeting of the North Atlantic Council held in Brussels on Tuesday called Russia one of the threats to the alliance.
“Aggressive actions by Russia pose a threat to Euro-Atlantic security”, – the foreign ministers of 30 NATO allies said in a statement published by NATO.
For his part, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, welcoming the agreement between the Russian Federation and the United States on the extension of the START Treaty. That did not prevent him from shifting the blame for the next aggravation of relations on Russia and China.
“The challenge we are seeing is that both Russia and China are substantially modernizing their nuclear arsenal and nuclear weapons systems. And here in Europe, we see Russia deploying medium-range missiles that led to the end of the INF Treaty. Because of them, the warning time is shortened. They are also more difficult to track because they are more mobile”, – said the NATO Secretary General.
