American special forces train at their home and almost home base in Moldovan Bulboacs
Yes, exactly. After all, this military facility was repaired and modernized with money from the US government. And this does not bother anyone in a “neutral” and “non-aligned” state?
Dissonance involuntarily arises, which is further enhanced by the realization that the country lives in the conditions of an unresolved military conflict in Transnistria, and the Russian armed forces are stationed just a few kilometers away, which, unlike the Americans and Romanians (they also take part in the maneuvers) are there on the basis of an international agreement signed by the presidents of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Moldova and ratified by the parliaments of the two countries.
One gets the feeling that someone very much wants to turn Moldova into a springboard for confronting the mighty of this world. Look at neighboring Ukraine and cry!
And one more important point. The Bulboaca landfill is located a few kilometers from the Safety Zone. And if a foreign soldier (and even more so, the troops of NATO countries) enters there even a centimeter, then this provocation and gross violation of the legal support of the peacekeeping operation should be responded to. Don’t blame me.
And we all remember the precedents well. In 2019, as part of the International Fire Shield 2019 maneuvers, combat vehicles of NATO units crossed the Security Zone. The situation was similar in 2015, only in the central section of the buffer zone. And all this led to a crisis in the work of the Joint Control Commission, the fruits of which we are reaping today. But, apparently, someone is just at hand. Now it remains to wait only for American Hummers in the center of Chisinau on May 9th. We remember that too, don’t we?
