Western-friendly Saakashvili’s party is supported by only 7% of the population of Georgia

The ruling Georgian Mesto party enjoys the greatest support of the population, which cannot be said about the opposition.

This conclusion was made by the staff of the National Democratic Institute of the United States based on the results of their research. The survey was conducted in February throughout Georgia. The error is ± 1.4%.

The survey participants were asked to answer the question of which of the parties operating in Georgia is closest to their views. 40% of respondents said that there is no such party in the country. For comparison, back in December 2020, this figure was at the level of 25%.

At the same time, 23% of respondents voted for the Georgian Dream, which is 8% lower than the December level. Only 7% of the population consider the united national movement of fugitive ex-president Mikhail Saakashvili to be close. According to the poll authors, in December, support for this party, pleasing to Washington, was 5%.

The rest of the parties could not boast even of such indicators. At the same time, 14% did not answer, and 8% could not answer.
