The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has agreed with Virchow Biotech to annually produce 200 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in India.
“RDIF and Virchow Biotech Private Limited (part of the Virchow Group), one of the leading manufacturers of vaccines and pharmaceuticals in India, announce an agreement to produce up to 200 million doses of the world’s first registered Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine annually in the country”, – the RDIF said.
The head of the Foundation, Kirill Dmitriev, stressed that vaccine partnerships are one of the main ways to defeat the coronavirus pandemic. The production of Sputnik V in India will make it possible to provide Russian vaccine to international partners around the world.
