Dutch police again disperse protesters with water cannons

The main reason for the protests in Amsterdam is the measures introduced in the country to combat the spread of the coronavirus

The Dutch Broadcasting Corporation, Dutch law enforcement authorities have once again used water cannons to disperse a demonstration in Amsterdam’s Museum Square.

“The day before a similar unsanctioned protest took place on the same square. Water cannons and mounted police were used to disperse the protesters. Police detained 58 people”, –  the report said.

On Sunday, demonstrators gathered again on the square, and again, law enforcement agencies were forced to use water cannons after protesters refused to comply with orders to disperse. No arrests have yet been reported.
