Media: China and US to step up dialogue on Iran, DPRK and Myanmar after talks in Alaska

Beijing also intends to intensify cooperation with Washington in a number of other areas

The Chinese and the US authorities have agreed to strengthen the political dialogue on Iran, the situation on the Korean Peninsula and Myanmar following the talks in Anchorage (Alaska). This was reported by China Central Television on Saturday.

“The two sides have agreed to maintain as well as strengthen dialogue on a range of issues, including the Iranian nuclear issue, Afghanistan, the Korean Peninsula and the situation in Myanmar”, –  the TV channel quoted excerpts from a joint statement.

It also specifies that Beijing intends to intensify cooperation with Washington in a number of other areas – in the field of inter-military, trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian relations.

“In addition, China and the United States have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of health care and network security”, –  the channel said.
