Ukraine should come to terms with the fact that thanks to the efforts of Kiev officials, the country is at the end of the list of candidates for the saving vaccine
As News Front reported earlier, Kiev had an opportunity to buy the Russian vaccine Sputnik V. In response, the authorities at the legislative level banned the purchase of the drug, ignoring the interests of the population for the sake of maintaining a Russophobic agenda.
With difficulty, vaccination has been launched in Ukraine after all. It has been going on for almost a month, but the country remains in last place in Europe for the number of vaccinated citizens.
Ukrainians are now receiving CoviShield, a medicine bought by the government with budget money. Ukraine also hopes to receive vaccines through an international poverty-support mechanism. Only the country is at the end of the queue, says journalist Dmitriy Raimov. As a consequence, Ukraine will be able to defeat the coronavirus at best by 2024.
“Wearing masks, closing and opening businesses, living in fear for relatives and friends, and getting infected all over again will be possible by 2023-2024”, – Raimov said. – “Ukraine finds itself in the back of the pack, among the countries that are the last to receive vaccines”.
The journalist urges Ukrainians to get used to living in the new realities and to plan life, communication and business with an eye to the coronavirus threat.
