UK may ban protests that cause “serious irritation” among citizens – Business Insider

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to push a new bill this week to target “noisy” or “severely annoying” protests. According to Business Insider, the initiative envisages the introduction of liability in the form of up to 10 years in prison for its participants.

In addition, the bill will give police officers significantly more powers to suppress protests, limit the right to protest in front of the UK Parliament building, and introduce punishment of up to ten years for damaging public monuments.
