London sees Moscow as its main threat

Great Britain called Russia the most acute and urgent threat to its security. This is stated in the Comprehensive Review of the country’s security, defense and foreign policy, for the period up to 2030, presented on Tuesday.

The authors of the 100-page review emphasize that Russia will continue to be “the most acute direct threat to Great Britain” and expect an increase in Russia’s activity in neighboring European countries.

“NATO will remain the basis of collective security in our Euro-Atlantic region, where Russia remains the most urgent threat to our security”, – the document says.

It is also noted that, together with partners in the alliance, Great Britain “will reflect nuclear, traditional and hybrid security threats, especially those posed by Russia”. Both the growth of Russian military potential and the significant investment by Russia and China in “information operations” and “demonstration of global cultural influence” are causing concern in London.
