The head of the EMA said that the situation with the Oxford vaccines for the AstraZeneca coronavirus is not a surprise.
The EMA stressed that there is allegedly “no evidence that the vaccine caused blood clots”, and that “the number of cases of thrombosis is not higher than in the normal population”.
“We evaluate all incidents on an individual basis. It is expected that the experts will make a conclusion on Thursday”, – said the head of the EMA.
Before that, after a number of countries refused the vaccine, the European Commission nevertheless concluded that “the decisions of the EU member states to suspend the use of the drug are justified,” and noted that there are “more serious problems with the AstraZeneca vaccine”.
