An advisory committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) has begun reviewing data on clot formation after vaccination with a drug from the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca
This is reported by Reuters.
“Once the WHO has a full understanding of these developments, the results and any unlikely changes to the current recommendations will be immediately communicated to the public”, – said WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeyer.
There is currently no evidence that the clot formation was caused by AstraZeneca’s coronavirus drug, he said.
It was previously reported that a number of countries in Europe have rejected the use of the British-Swedish AstraZeneca vaccine following reports of blood clots and decreased platelet counts among those vaccinated.
