The Council of National Coordinators approves the SCO action plan for 2021

The plan has over 150 points and covers all areas of cooperation within the organisation

The Council of National Coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) approved the SCO action plan for 2021 at its March 10-13 meeting in Tashkent. The Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press service said on Saturday.

“The SCO’s major events plan for 2021, which includes more than 150 items and affects all directions of multidisciplinary cooperation within the organization, was approved,” the press service said. It noted that the delegations also discussed the preparation of major SCO events under Tajikistan’s SCO chairmanship and exchanged views on the draft documents to be approved at the SCO summit in Dushanbe in September this year.

The Council of National Coordinators is the body that coordinates and manages the day-to-day activities of the SCO. In particular, it prepares meetings of the Council of Heads of State, the Council of Heads of Government and the Council of Foreign Ministers. National coordinators are appointed in accordance with the internal rules and procedures of each member state of the organisation.
