The Bundestag has spoken out in favour of EU approval of a Russian vaccine

The Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V should have the same chance of approval in the European Union as other drugs. This is the opinion of co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AdG) faction, Bundestag member Alice Weidel

In a comment to RIA Novosti news agency, he stressed that such an approach would ensure real competition of vaccines, from which Europeans would only benefit.

“I hope that Sputnik V has the same chance of approval as other vaccines. This will keep real vaccine competition in Europe”, –  she said.

The German MP also revealed that during her visit to Moscow, members of the AdG delegation met with the developers of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V and with representatives of RDIF.

According to Weidel, these meetings discussed and compared the vaccination situation in Russia and the EU. They also talked about different vaccination strategies, availability and how to procure vaccines.

She added that the members of the AdG delegation had received a “friendly offer” to supply themselves with Russian vaccines during their visit to Moscow, but they did not take advantage of it.

Earlier EADaily reported that Western intelligence agencies were preparing an information attack on the Russian vaccine Sputnik V with staged mass deaths.
