The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on the statements of the German Ministry of Defense “about the Russian threat”, said that Moscow takes into account the outlined realities in relations with Berlin.
Earlier, the publication Welt am Sonntag wrote that an internal document of the German Ministry of Defense assesses the actions of the Russian Federation as pursuing the goal of “destabilizing and weakening NATO”. China, according to the same document, seeks to “shape the international order in accordance with its interests”. According to the publication, the ministry warns of a growing threat from power claims and new military capabilities in China and Russia.
As a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said at a briefing, German special services often organize “leaks” of certain confidential documents in the media to form the necessary public opinion in Germany.
“The Germans are being instilled with the idea that Russia is a kind of real threat to NATO countries… The anti-Russian vision is now being consolidated in the German state at the doctrinal and strategic level. Appropriate statements are being made by German officials, politicians of the First League”, – she said at the briefing.
“I’ll say briefly: the Russian side takes into account the stated realities in relations with the FRG”, – she stressed.
Western politicians periodically make statements about the “Russian threat”. The Kremlin stated that Russia poses no threat to anyone, but will not disregard actions that are potentially dangerous to its interests. Moscow has also expressed concern about the strengthening of NATO infrastructure near the Russian borders.
