The Polish special services accused the Russian consul in Poznan, who was previously expelled from the country, of non-compliance with quarantine rules and “creating a threat of infection of people”.
In February, the Russian consul in Poznan was declared persona non grata. This was a response to similar actions against his Polish colleague in St. Petersburg, who participated in an unauthorized street action. However, now Poland has decided to justify the expulsion of the consul by “non-compliance with quarantine measures”.
“The Russian consul expelled from Poland was infected with the coronavirus, and yet he took part in meetings and appeared in public places”, – said Stanislav Zharin, press secretary of the secret services coordinator minister.
Polish special services claim that the consul allegedly violated the self-isolation regime and left his place of residence, despite receiving a positive coronavirus test.
