Media: NATO warships to conduct operation in Barents Sea

British media report that a group of NATO warships will demonstrate “its military presence” in the Barents Sea, the Welders Telegram channel reports.

“Several warships from the US Navy, Great Britain, Norway and other countries of the alliance may join the NATO multinational ship formation. The group’s actions will be provided by auxiliary vessels, as well as anti-submarine and reconnaissance aircraft of the Arctic states of the NATO bloc. Britain plans to send a Norfolk-class URO frigate on a cruise”, – according to the authors of the Telegram channel.

In their opinion, one should not exclude the possibility that the military-political leadership of NATO may attempt an unauthorized passage of its ships along the Northern Sea Route in the event of a favorable ice situation.

“In this case, the Russian side will be forced to take adequate measures. After all, only decisive actions allow the state to uphold international law and protect national interests, which can be neglected and questioned”, – the authors of the Welders Telegram channel noted.
