Denmark suspends vaccination of AstraZeneca due to risk of blood clots in patients

The Danish Health Authority announced that vaccinations at the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca were temporarily suspended due to information on the risk of blood clots in vaccinated patients.

“AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccination has been suspended until further notice. This came after reports of severe cases of blood clots in people vaccinated with it. Against this backdrop, the European Medicines Agency has begun research on the AstraZeneca vaccine. One report concerns a death in Denmark”, – the Office said.

Vaccination of the population with the drug by AstraZeneca has been suspended for two weeks. By April 1, the Danish authorities announce a new decision regarding the use of the vaccine.
