The 2021 Myanmar protests are domestic civil resistance efforts in Myanmar in opposition to the coup d’état on 1 February 2021 caused by Min Aung Hlaing, the commander-in-chief of the country’s armed forces. As of 9 March 2021, at least 1,700 people have been detained, and at least 54 fatalities have occurred in relation to the coup.
