“The losers here will be the US”: Ankara reacts to Washington’s blocking of Turkish helicopter deliveries to Pakistan
“The US has blocked our planned sale of attack helicopters to Pakistan. This will probably lead to the tender in question going to China and the losers here will be the US”, – Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalın said.
The supply of Turkish helicopters was blocked by the US as part of sanctions against Turkey over the purchase of Russian S-400 air defence systems. It was the largest single defence contract in Turkish history. Its value was estimated at USD 1.5 billion.
