Russia and Belarus to hold joint military exercises in March

Russian Defense Ministry reported on the joint tactical exercises of the Airborne Forces of Russia and the Special Operations Forces of the armed forces of Belarus

“During March this year, joint Russian-Belarusian tactical exercises of the Russian Airborne Troops and the Special Operations Forces of the armed forces of Belarus will take place at the Polivno training ground in Ulyanovsk Region and the Osipovichi training ground in Minsk Region of Belarus”, –  the defence ministry said.

The joint exercises will involve over 400 servicemen and about 100 units of military and special equipment of the Ulyanovsk formation, and more than 80 soldiers of a separate Guards Airborne Assault Group of Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus will be involved from the Belarusian side. Two Mi-24 attack helicopters and six Mi-8AMTSh transport and combat helicopters of the Central Military District of Russia will also be involved in the manoeuvres.
