Former President of Ukraine, People’s Deputy Petro Poroshenko believes that the American sanctions against the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky are caused by the inaction of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The fact that Kolomoisky will be recognized as a large-scale corrupt official and will fall under US sanctions has always been only a matter of time. The next step is the indictment of the American justice against the former owner of Privatbank. The toxic impact of Kolomoisky on the internal development of Ukraine since 2019 has become a real danger for the country. Now the moment of truth has come for Zelensky: either the continuation of the protection of his business partner, as he did during his tenure, or Ukraine?” – Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page.
The ex-president believes that Zelensky should “leave the business partnership in the past and end the two-year slowdown in the investigation of Kolomoisky’s crimes”.
Poroshenko also called on the oligarch to immediately “bring charges and suspicions and put him behind bars”.
Earlier, the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced sanctions against the Ukrainian oligarch and former head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Igor Kolomoisky in connection with his involvement in major corruption.
