Kiev is counting on the fastest possible entry of Ukraine into NATO, said the head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Andriy Yermak.
“We believe that the receipt in June of last year of NATO partner status with enhanced capabilities brought us to an absolutely new level of cooperation in the field of defense and security, but we very much hope that the process of Ukraine’s accession and membership in NATO will be as fast as possible”, – he was quoted as saying speech at an online conference with representatives of the RIA Novosti Center for European Politics.
According to Yermak, “Ukraine deserves to become a part of the NATO family”.
Earlier, Zelensky said that Ukraine’s immediate goal is to obtain an Action Plan for NATO membership.
At the end of 2020, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced that the country plans to become a full-fledged NATO member in 2030.
