Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder urged not to politicize the issue of certification of the Russian vaccine against the Sputnik V coronavirus in the EU, to conduct an examination as soon as possible.
“I really hope that, in relation to the Sputnik vaccines, only scientific arguments in the approval question will be considered, other (arguments) will not be used”, – Söder said, speaking in the Landtag in Munich with a government statement, the speech is being broadcast on TV channel N24.
He also asked the European office of EMA to “expedite the review process” of new vaccines, including Sputnik V, for certification in the EU.
Earlier, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) reported that the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has begun a consistent examination of the registration dossier of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. The agency will test the vaccine against EU standards for efficacy, safety and quality.
