Since 2017, there have been no chemical weapons in Russia, said Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma’s international affairs committee, commenting on the US call for the Russian Federation “to declare and destroy its chemical weapons program”.
The US calls on the Russian Federation to “declare and destroy its chemical weapons program”, State Department spokesman Ned Price said on Tuesday.
“In Russia, there have been no chemical weapons since 2017, in principle, which is recognized by the relevant international organization OPCW, which is confirmed by repeated expert assessments. Russia has fulfilled its obligations in this area”, – Slutsky said during a live broadcast on Instagram.
Earlier, the US and the EU accused the Russian authorities of “poisoning” Alexei Navalny. The Kremlin has previously denied accusations of the presence of banned toxic substances. According to the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, Moscow is complying with all obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention.
