Sanctions policy against Russia fails to achieve its goal – Peskov

Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has commented on information from Reuters that the United States intends to introduce new restrictive measures against Russia on March 2

Earlier it was reported that Reuters news agency, citing its sources, said that US President Joe Biden’s administration intends to introduce new sanctions against Russia on March 2.

“Those who continue this kind of, one might say, dependence on some kind of restrictions in the conduct of interstate affairs, it is probably time for them to think about whether they are achieving any goal by continuing this policy and whether things are getting worse in interstate affairs, and whether they themselves are the reason for deteriorating interstate affairs by continuing this policy, whether this policy is effective, whether it achieves its goal”, –  Peskov said.

He also noted that he considered it inappropriate to discuss sanctions that had not yet been imposed. Peskov stressed that Russia would in any case be “guided by its own interests”.
