This is reported by Reuters news agency, citing its sources.
According to Reuters, US authorities will impose sanctions on Russia under a 2005 law to combat the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and a 1991 law on the control of chemical and biological weapons and the prohibition of their military use.
CNN earlier reported, citing US administration sources, that Washington intends to impose sanctions against Russia over a “Berlin clinic patient” this week. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the US could announce new restrictive measures “within a few weeks”.
