Stockpiles of the AstraZeneca vaccine remain unused while French and German authorities try to convince people of its effectiveness. This has been reported by the European media platform Euractiv
According to the French Ministry of Health, out of 1.7 mln AstraZeneca vaccines that were received at the end of February, only about 270 000 have been administered. One of the main reasons for the rejection was the fact that the creators of the British-Swedish vaccine prohibited using it in people over 65.
Earlier it was reported that Germany intended to create “vaccine tours” to Moscow for its citizens during which the Germans will be able to be inoculated with the Russian product “Sputnik V” right at the airport.
Sputnik V vaccine was registered first in the world. The vaccine was developed by the Gamaleya Scientific and Research Centre for Epidemiology and Ecology. The vaccine is based on a well-studied adenovirus platform which ensures high efficacy and safety.
