Bundestag believes that differences between Russia and FRG may benefit U.S.

The disunity between Russia and Germany may be beneficial to the United States because of their desire for economic leadership. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Bundestag Committee on Economy and Energy Klaus Ernst.

“At the moment of the development of our relations, I see the future in peaceful coexistence and cooperation, and not in disunity, which neither we nor the Russians play into the hands of. But it plays into the hands of the Americans, who strive to remain in the position of an economically dominant power”, – he said.

At the same time, according to Ernst, US President Joe Biden is trying to restore relations with Europe and Germany to some extent.

“But what has not changed is that the US is planning and imposing extraterritorial sanctions, which the German federal government does not recognize”, – he added, noting that Europe’s energy policy cannot be determined by the United States.
