The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that the criminal proceedings in which US President Joe Biden was involved had been terminated lawfully.
The criminal case against the American president was initiated at the request of the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin. He accused Biden, who was the US vice president at the time, of “undue interference” with his activities. Shokin also said that in 2016 he was dismissed from the post of attorney general precisely because of Biden’s pressure.
The criminal proceedings were closed on September 23, 2020 due to the “lack of corpus delicti”, however, the applicant Viktor Shokin did not agree with this verdict and filed a complaint with the court.
“The applicant Viktor Shokin and his lawyers disagreed with this decision. They filed a complaint against the police interrogator in court. Having familiarized in detail with the materials of the proceedings, on February 25, 2021, the court issued its verdict: to refuse to satisfy the complaint”, – the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said.
Earlier it was reported that Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova said that law enforcement agencies will not re-consider criminal cases in which the son of the US President Hunter Biden was involved.
