Moldovan Sandu calls conditions for use of Russian COVID vaccine in her country

Maia Sandu says that in Moldova, the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will be used only after the approval of the World Health Organization.

Meanwhile, the republic is waiting for 20 thousand doses of AstraZenec vaccine from Romania. According to Sandu, the drug will arrive within 10 days.

The President also does not exclude the use of the Russian drug, but is waiting for its approval from the WHO.

“We are waiting for what WHO has to say because I don’t think we have the capacity to define such issues. There is the European Agency, there is the WHO, which are clarifying. The health of citizens is important for us, it is important to know what the consequences are. But it is important that we have access to vaccines as soon as possible”, – Sandu said.
