The number of people infected between February 15 and 21 also fell by 11%
The World Health Organization (WHO) said in its weekly epidemiological bulletin published in Geneva on Wednesday that the number of people infected with the coronavirus fell by 11% globally between 15 and 21 February, while the number of deaths fell by 20% compared to the previous week. The decline is the sixth consecutive week of illnesses.
“The number of new infections reported globally has declined for the sixth week in a row, with 11% fewer cases recorded”, – the WHO said.
In the past week, 2,457,026 infections and 66,359 deaths were reported. As of 21 February there were 110 763 898 infections and 2 455 331 deaths worldwide.
