Iran launches production of Sputnik V

Iranian production facilities are expected to produce 40 million doses of the drug each

According to Deutsche welle, the government of the Islamic Republic said on Tuesday that Iran plans to set up a joint production facility with Russia for the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.

“Iran will become one of the five Sputnik production centres outside Russia’s borders”, –  the Iranian government said.

Iranian production capacity is expected to produce 40 million doses of the vaccine each. Tehran expects to launch production of the drug by the end of the year according to the Persian calendar, i.e. 21 March.
