First batch of Sputnik V vaccine delivered to Mexico

The first batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine has been delivered to Mexico by a plane that landed at Mexico City International Airport

Sputnik V is planned to be used to vaccinate elderly people. The vaccination campaign will start in the metropolitan areas of Istacalco, Tlahuac and Sochimilco on 24 February.

“Sputnik V” has been developed by the Gamaleya Research and Development Centre. The drug is based on a well-studied adenovirus platform that ensures high efficacy and safety. More than 30 countries have now registered the Russian vaccine.
