Prime Minister of Slovakia urges to purchase Sputnik V as soon as possible

The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Igor Matovic, insists on the urgent purchase of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.

On Friday, Matovich said that he had reached an agreement with the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev and the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov on the purchase of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.

The Prime Minister noted his disagreement with the position of colleagues from the center-right party “For People”, who believe that “Sputnik V” must first register with the European Medicines Agency. According to Matovich, the approval of the local Ministry of Health will be enough to use the Russian vaccine in the country.

“Someone does not want Sputnik V to be in Slovakia, but wants us to continue to rely on the long delays in the delivery of vaccines ordered by the European Union. He wants us to suffer from a lockdown and unnecessary deaths”, – the Prime Minister of Slovakia wrote on his Facebook page.
