US to report on new sanctions against Nord Stream 2

According to Bloomberg, the U.S. administration will report to Congress on February 19 on new sanctions against Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline

A Bloomberg source said the additional restrictions will apply to some Russian companies, while German firms will not be affected by the sanctions, as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken intends to resolve the issue with Germany diplomatically.

According to the agency’s sources, the administration of the previous US president had been developing serious sanctions against Germany in its final days in power, but failed to implement them in time.
