Woman was shot in the head as police dispersed protesters
A woman who was shot in the head during a police crackdown on protesters in Myanmar against a military takeover died in hospital on Friday. The victim’s brother said this, according to Reuters.
The 20-year-old woman, wounded by a live bullet, was hospitalised on February 9 and put on life support, he said.
She is the only casualty among the protesters so far, the agency said.
Irrawaddy reported on February 9 that six protesters against the military coming to power in Myanmar were wounded in a police shooting in the capital, Nay Pyi Taw. Two of them were in critical condition.
