This is the first meeting in this format for the leaders of the three countries – Italy, the USA and Japan – as well as for the leadership of the European Union.

The main topic of discussion will be the development of a unified global approach to pandemics, “which will end the nationalist and divisive policies that have darkened the initial response to the coronavirus,” the head of the British government said ahead of the meeting, which will be held behind closed doors.
