Germany has decided in advance to create a channel for cheap labor from Ukraine

As the next field season is approaching, Germany is holding talks with Ukraine to provide the European country with cheap labor

The coronavirus pandemic has severely affected labor migration in Europe, affecting both European entrepreneurs and job seekers. Ukrainians used to regularly leave the country for temporary jobs in the EU, but due to the spread of the coronavirus, the commonwealth’s borders have been closed. It has come to the point where special firms have opened in Ukraine selling fake invitations to work in the EU.

In the new year, German authorities, interested in cheap labour, began preparing in advance and are already negotiating with Kiev over migrant workers.

“We are all very dependent on the further course of the pandemic. My colleagues here and in Germany are working intensively to make it possible for migrant workers to go to Germany, for example, to work on farms, pick fruit, strawberries”, –  said Anka Feldhusen, the German ambassador to Ukraine.
