US Global Hawk drones skirt Crimea and Donbass

The U.S. drones can deny as much as they want that Crimea is Russian, but they do not risk flying into the airspace over the peninsula. Incidentally, it is the same situation in Donbass

According to PolitNavigator, in an interview with Moskovskiy Komsomolets, Viktor Murakhovskiy, a member of the expert council of the Russian Military-Industrial Commission board, an expert of the Russian Council on International Affairs and editor in chief of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, said that Russian air defense assets closely monitor the almost daily flights of American strategic drones Global Hawk (Global Hawk) along the Crimea and near the border line between the Donbass republics and Ukraine. At the same time, there is no need to respond in any way to US movements, including by shooting down drones.

“They are not violating Russian airspace. They are very much afraid of that themselves. Only on TV and at various international forums can the Americans not recognise Crimea as Russian territory, but in reality they have to recognise it. Not a single machine of this kind would dare to cross the air border of our Crimean peninsula even a centimetre”, –  the expert stressed.

According to Murakhovsky’s information, the US uses the Global Hawk strategic drone to conduct aerial reconnaissance over objects located on our territory.

“Their base is located on the Italian island of Sicily. There is a town called Sigonella where these US Global Hawks are based. They also fly almost every day along the borders of Crimea and over the territory of Ukraine near the border with Novorossia. They enter the territory of Poland, patrol in the region of Kaliningrad along our borders”, –  the journalist said.
