White House starts negotiations with Germany on Nord Stream-2

The US administration has begun negotiations with Berlin on the situation around the Nord Stream-2 project. This is reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing a high-ranking German politician familiar with the topic.

According to the interlocutor of the newspaper, within the framework of the talks, “threats of sanctions against companies involved in the construction of Nord Stream-2” are being discussed.

The publication reminds that on Tuesday, the administration of US President Joe Biden has a deadline to announce a list of companies that, in its opinion, violate US laws aimed at stopping the Nord Stream-2 project.
