The American was vaccinated against the coronavirus at the Yevpatoriya clinic.
As RIA Novosti reporters were told in the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information of Crimea, this is the first vaccination of an American in Crimea.
“Bruce Watts Beven was vaccinated with Sputnik V, his wife, archaeologist Tatyana Smekalova, a Russian citizen, was also vaccinated”, – the message says.
Bruce Beven, who is 78 years old, has been living in Evpatoria with his wife for over a year, he came to Crimea from the suburbs of Washington.
“The Sputnik V vaccine is good and I’m glad I was able to get it. Why not? It would be unsafe for me to travel to the United States to get the vaccine. The trip takes 24 hours. It is much better to get it here and now”, – he told the reporters.
Earlier, the head of the Crimean parliament’s committee on people’s diplomacy and interethnic relations, Yuri Gempel, said that he received appeals from residents of the EU countries in which they expressed a desire to come to Crimea and be vaccinated with the Russian vaccine.
